  110. This period strictly covers about 600 to 200 B.C., since later times were
  111. dominated by Romans with rather different sorts of units.  Land warfare
  112. was most significant, with some notable sea-fights.  Cities were nearly
  113. untakeable, so the action centered around sieges and field battles.

  115. Peltast (light infantry).  Useful in skirmishes.

  117. Hoplite (heavy infantry).  For the capture of cities by assault.
